Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Bathrobe Company Canada, a division of Caruso Consulting Co Ltd ("we", "us" or "our"), handles personal information when you visit mybathrobe.net or buy from us. We handle it under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where they apply, the private-sector privacy laws of Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia.

What we collect

When you order: your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing address, plus what you bought and what you paid.
When you pay: your card details go straight to Stripe, or you pay inside PayPal. We receive confirmation of payment, not your full card number.
When you write to us or use a form: what you send us, and your contact details so we can reply.
When you browse: if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records pages viewed, the device and browser you use, and roughly where you are. Your basket is kept in your own browser's storage.

Why we use it

to take payment for your order, ship it and send you order and tracking emails;
to answer your questions and handle returns and complaints;
to understand how the site is used, if you have agreed to analytics cookies;
to prevent fraud and keep records the law requires us to keep.

We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to them, and every one has a way to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that run the shop for us, and only what each one needs:

Stripe and PayPal, to take payment;
the supplier and courier who pack and deliver your order;
our email service, to send order confirmations and replies;
our order database and website hosting providers;
Google, for analytics, if you accept analytics cookies;
the provider of the chat assistant on our pages, if you use it.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, where it can be accessed by courts and authorities under the law of the country it is held in. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for the order, returns and warranty questions, and for the accounting and tax periods the law requires. After that we delete or anonymise them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it.
You can withdraw your consent to marketing or analytics at any time. Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer for cookies.
You can ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.

Email theteam@mybathrobe.net to do any of these, and we will reply within 30 days.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or to the privacy commissioner of your province where one covers private businesses.

Keeping it safe

Checkout runs over an encrypted connection, payment details are handled by Stripe and PayPal, and access to order records is limited to the people who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.

Children

The shop is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version goes on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
